Farm2Farm is a local and organic food initiative.

Farm2Farm is an effort to utilize the employees and assets of Enterprise Farm, an existing organic farm in Whately, MA on a year round basis instead of just during the short Western Mass growing season.

During the off season, Enterprise Farm's facilities and three of its employees shift their focus and attention from growing and distributing local produce to sourcing and distributing regional produce. Organic produce is sourced and shipped to Enterprise Farm from Florida and the Carolinas. This division of Enterprise Farm is called Enterprise Produce Company. Enterprise Produce Company then distributes this regional organic produce from its facility in Whately to our customers in Massachusetts and Vermont. Hence the name of the initiative: produce comes from one farm to another farm and then to our customer base which is comprised largely of the CVNC Food Co-op group in Western Massachusetts and Vermont.

Most of the East Coast's winter produce (including organics) is shipped in from California. Enterprise Produce and its Farm2Farm initiative offers an alternative to "big corporate" California organic produce. We are able to deliver fresher organic produce grown by small organic farms in the Southeastern US. Our product has a much lower carbon footprint than California and Mexican organic produce that is shipped to New England. Our Florida produce travels less than half of the distance and our North Carolina produce travels about a third of the distance as compared to California grown produce. Farm2Farm initiative is an alternative, socially responsible, food distribution initiative.

During the summer and autumn months, Enterprise Produce Company switches from regional supply to local supply. We begin shipping produce grown by Enterprise Farm and other neighboring Western Mass farms including:
